Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer’s is frequently described as a disorder of the brain that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills. Gradually it robs a person of the ability to do the most basic activities of daily living. While symptoms tend to appear later in life, we now know that Alzheimer’s can be at work as long as 20 years before the first symptoms appear.

There are currently over 6 million Americans, most over the age of 65, with dementia caused by Alzheimer’s. Recent estimates have shown that Alzheimer’s is the third leading cause of death in older people, just behind heart disease and all forms of cancer.

During the early stages of Alzheimer’s toxic changes are taking place in the brain. We now understand the brain is struggling with an inflammatory response. Healthy neurons
stop functioning and lose connection with other neurons and die. The brain actually starts to shrink impacting aspects of cognition such as word-finding, vision/spatial
issues, movement difficulties, the sense of smell, reasoning and judgment.

Current medications offer no cure but can slow some of the progression of the dominate symptoms. However, to be reasonably effective medications are best started
before symptoms start to become evident.

Join the Revolution!

While Alzheimer’s has been known since 1906 it wasn’t until about 2012 that Dr. Dale Bredesen started to treat Alzheimer’s with a protocol that was individualized and focused on factors that were causing the cognitive decline. The results for many patients was nothing short of amazing. The decline stopped and in many cases was
reversed. Even patients with a genetic propensity that were told “there is nothing you can do,” are living contradictions to that statement.

We are pleased to be a part of a quiet but significant revolution in treating Alzheimer’s. We carefully evaluate each person for a wide variety of required items your brain network needs and does not need to function. Your lab draw will reveal the hormones, infections, nutrients, toxins, vitamins, minerals, inflammation, and genes that are at work in your brain. Then we develop an individualized protocol that helps your brain clean out what it does not need and rebuild what is suboptimal.
