Frequently Asked Questions
-
Who is The Enhance Protocol® for?The Enhance Protocol® is for any adult who is motivated to improve his or her cognitive functioning. We believe that the greatest benefit of the protocol is in addressing the root causes of cognitive decline before they advance to the point that symptoms are noticeable. Alzheimer’s disease is often at work 10 to 20 years before symptoms show up, so prevention and early intervention are very valuable. However, many of clients are already living with dementia and they have seen exciting improvements and stabilization.

Are there people who are not good candidates for The Enhance Protocol®?Although we believe anyone can benefit from working to improve brain functioning, some people are not good candidates for The Enhance Protocol®. Individuals who are in late stages of dementia and not expected to live more than a few weeks do not have sufficient time to make meaningful progress in the protocol. Although we have many creative solutions and can coach through difficult situations, individuals who are extremely picky and refuse to eat in brain healthy ways are not good candidates for The Enhance Protocol®. We are happy to schedule a free 30-minute consultation (another possible link to contact) with anyone who may question whether The Enhance Protocol® is right for their situation. Simply call us at __________________________ to schedule an appointment.

I just want to get my lab work done, get the report, have someone walk me through it to get started, and skip the ongoing coaching. Is there an option for that?"Yes! Please call us at ______________________ and we will be happy to walk you through the process and schedule the next steps if you choose to pursue them.

What kind of results can I expect if I participate in The Enhance Protocol®?We cannot guarantee any specific results for any participant since many factors influence a person’s response. How well a person complies with treatment recommendations, the level of his or her cognitive functioning, the root causes of cognitive impairment, and many other factors affect outcomes. In general, most clients see improved cognitive test scores, greater energy levels, reduced pain, clearer thinking, and a better mood. There are clients with test scores of 16 out of 30 on a Montreal Cognitive Assessment who have improved their scores to 26 to 30 out of 30, within several months of treatment. There have been clients who could not consistently put words together effectively begin speaking more fluently again. In cases where we have not seen such impressive gains in cognitive functioning, we have still noted greater stabilization for an extended period of time. Slowing or halting decline is a victory, and we fight hard to help each client gain as much as possible from participating in The Enhance Protocol®.

My loved one has dementia, but it is not of the Alzheimer’s type. Can The Enhance Protocol® benefit people with other types of dementia?"Yes. We work with clients living with Lewy Body Dementia, Fronto-temporal Degeneration, Posterior Cortical Atrophy, Parkinson’s Dementia, Vascular Dementia, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, traumatic brain injury, concussions and other conditions. If you have a question about whether we might be able to help, feel free to contact Mind Revive or call __________________ and schedule a complimentary consultation.

Scott Bernstein has offered workshops and continuing education classes to train care-partners and professionals on how to interact with and care for people living with dementia. Please contact Mind Revive or call _____________ to schedule a conversation with Scott.

Will someone at Mind Revive become my doctor? No. Mind Revive operates in a consultation and coaching capacity and cannot take the place of your primary care provider. We believe it is important for our clients to maintain a close relationship with their Primary Care Provider (PCP) and involve them in all aspects of their participation in our programs. We expect our clients to share recommendations we make with their PCPs and seek their additional guidance. We are happy to consult directly with a client’s PCP or FNP to address questions, concerns, or differences of opinion and aim to establish collaborative and productive relationships that benefit our clients.
